Multi-currency backtesting - page 2

MetaNt:

Does MT3 allow for multi-currency back-testing?

I don't have the programming prowess to alter the MT4 client as of yet, and I wanted to run this backtest before delving deeper into MQL4/5.

- In real meaning of words, as complete - no, nor MT4 or MT5, cause & it can be done separately using alternatives in solutions, i.e. complete solution "one button push" does not exist in any of the 3.

The only constantly-working programs have those who did it in separate own programs (dll exe sh doesn't matter), and the others are just spending most of the time translating or changing from MT3 to MT4 to hybrid MT4/5.

i don't know in what country you leave but i'm sure that there is a few countries that's legal find yourself one to live in LOL

I'm just wondering if it's illegal if you're simply using it for back-testing and not distributing it or using it in live trading.

Hybrid mt4/5?

MetaNt:

Hybrid mt4/5?
Well I call it like that because old MT4 is dead too, now it is only MT4 (4/5) - the new one which is combo of old MT4 (compiler) and 5, and MT5.
(old MT4 is gone, same as MT3 but in this case MT4 preserved the same name)

At least this MT4 still compiles mql4.

I think it's against the licence to modify MT4 but I am not a lawyer and I didn't study that carefully.

I'm not a lawyer, but metaquotes is pretty clear about it being a violation of the license agreement.

Basically they've said it's illegal do modify it.
