I concur, I ran the test EA 600+ again on the same chart data as before 1 yr backtest. Results are very slow compared to previous.
New Speed Test: Test EA 1yr backtest on build 610 compared with previous test results.

OK here is an issue, I noticed terminal.exe was holding onto 750 MB RAM the whole time, even before I started the tests, So now I deleted the 500 MB .fxt file from tester. Terminal.exe immediately released most of that RAM. Now I run the 3 tests again on 610.
Terminal.exe only holding 68 MB RAM throughout these next tests. Newly created .fxt file is again 500 MB as expected for a 1yr backtest.

Hi SDC, my difference, 509 test: 5 minutes, 610 test: 5-6 hours, with long period indicators, like some iMA(1000)'s, some Band(300)'s, on M1 tick data test.
some iCustom indicator calling EA's, 509 test: 5 minutes, 610 test: 1-2 hours. i'would be happy with 27 second tests.. tests for year 2013, comparin 509 and 610, to prove migrated code is healthy.
all we know MT4 crew developers screwed up big time every single person in in a deep shit EAs/ Indis/templ. nothing works most probably ppl will start to use diff. trading platforms .

Can I ask where you found your terminal.exe? exact file path?
I'm unable to locate it on the new builds.

hi, i did not understand. possibly you are searching for "installdir" for related terminal.exe . how it can reached, i don't know. possibly somewhere in registry.. i use "portable" mode. MQL4 dir inside install dir. for portable mode, it is ex4's dir's, 2 or 3 up level dir.
for uac mode, there was a text file inside mql4 dir, shows a link to installdir..

Thanks cbalta. In the older mt4 version it is located in same file as experts, history etc (see pick below). By clicking on it you can start up the terminal from that location.
However in the 600 versions, it is not there at all. its not anywhere. Thanks for your response.

I did another install.
this time I found the terminal.exe. after I did new install to D drive it showed it there. Though ti still doesn't show up on the C drive anywhere .
I tried that portable too, but when I add /portable all I get is error. I changed target exactly as documentation was.
tester crawls, critical errors, results are a disaster -50% when they were + 150%. Unable to even get connection, so not sure what will happen at that point.
What a mess they've made. Why would anyone put out an update that doesn't work properly?
Going to be a while to sort all this out.
