Recommendations for VPS service for hosting EAs?

Hello,

I'm looking for a VPS service to host my EAs.

What/who do you recommend for VPS service?

Thanks in advance,

- Lil

Any recommended names would be considered Ads. Just search a VPS comparison list. What you need would be particular to your needs anyway.

i have an experience with ICPH, personally having 512MB Linux VPS with metatrader. Here is more about it: https://instantcpanelhosting.com/knowledgebase/21/MetaTrader-Forex-VPS-servers-from-9.html

Hi, greentea. FXPro BeeksFX VPS provide the following machine at 30 USD per month cost.

  • 64-bit Windows Server 2012 DataCenter
  • x64 Xeon CPU @ 2.90 GHz
  • 1.13 GB RAM
  • 16.6 GB HD (free disk space may be an issue)
  • Custom app (POM) for automatically restart MT4 in case of failure

User guide suggests that clients run no more than 4 MT4 accounts and 10 EAs on a single VPS as an overload will affect our trading executions and stability of the VPS.

To avoid unexpected shutdowns due Windows update activation, please refer to the following article:

Regards.

Has anybody experience with running MT4 on a Linux-Wine pc or vps?

MT4 runs fine under Wine on my Ubuntu Linux PC. Just follow instructions from here.

Thank you!

May I ask you for your setup?

a) How are you attaching your vps (remote desktop?) to start admin stuff, ...?

    - From Linux to Linux with what?

    - From Windows to Linux with what?

b) #cpu, MHz, size of RAM and how many terminal are running

c) Do you know whether backtesting is faster or slower on Linux-Wine?

a) From Linux (desktop) to Windows (VPS) through Remmina Remote desktop client. To avoid connection problems, just change security to "RDP" instead of default "Negotiate".

b) On FXPro BeeksFX VPS, i'm running just 2 MT4 instances;

c) Performance is nearly the same (IMHO: not an issue).
