Silly question about prices and spread

Hi

when I buy an order for the ask price and sell it for the bid price, do I have to add the spread to go EXACTLY x pips??

I thought I payed the cost with the difference of the ask price and the bid price??

You are paying the cost with the difference.

If you go long and the spread is 2pips, the market needs to move 12 pips in your direction if you want to make 10. ( 10 pips for you, and 2 pips for the spread)

I know, spread and gravity are biches. ;)

OK, thank you.

Another silly point.

If I got on my chart an put the measuring rectical between the buy and the sell-point:

Sell-Order:

Buy-Order:

So how many pips are the orders exactly gone??

You lost in the first example 1.7pips and in the second one 1.5

However, depending on the spread the market could onlye move 0.5 or 1 pip against you after you have opened the order and you still would have loosed the above number of pips

Thank you.

I can see on the first number how many pips the orders is really gone and on the second number the order including the spread?!

Ah sorry, my error, the first number shows the number of bars elapsed and the second one shows the pip's-

I your example 4pips on the sell and 4.2 pips on the buy.

I am really sorry
