(re)Installing will NOT help invalid account. On most brokers a demo account is only good for several weeks. Open a new demo (file -> open new account.)

Hi There,
I have recently started using MT4 and after a laptop gave up on me I tried to reinstall the program on the new laptop. However I got the same 'invalid account' error as some searches threw up, none of the fixes worked however and when I uninstalled and reinstalled the software the most recent candle was from April 2009. This was both when I used my existing demo account details and also by registering a new account.
Any advice as to how I can get up and running again would be appreciated.
