Please help! MT4 strategy tester issue

Hello,

I installed MT4 completely new, and I just wanted to start the demo EA "Moving Average".

Here is a screenshot of the outcome:

As you can see, the MT4 tester buys and sells completly wrong!

Ask and Bid prices are in nomans land, hanging in the chart.

This problem is with all other EAs too!

As I said before: the installation is new, I even removed all registry entries.

Do you guys have any solutions for this?

My first response is ... are you back testing when the markets are closed? if so, the Ask price will a gazillion (or is that brazilian?) pips too high

Yes, the market is now closed.

Could that be the issue?

And why is the market closed at 22:00 GMT+1??

I'm on an Alpari demo account and I thought the market is 24/7 until friday?!

 

Yes

I just (try &) trade the market. I don't make the market. Note that we're in the "I'll change my clocks while you don't change yours" season.

I call it "24/5" and even then, it's a 1 or more hours less than that. Now that US is on Daylight Saving, markets close an hour earlier for others in the world
