MetaEditor hangs on vista when I try to compile a simple expert advisor

Hi:

I just installed Meta Trader on one of my systems and found that MetaEditor hangs while trying to compile a very simple MQ4 file. The system is a Windows Vista 64 system with an Intel Core2 Quad CPU. The system has 8GB of RAM. Other (non metatrader) tools work just fine. The process just seems to hang. It does not consume any CPU time.

I have compiled the same program on a windows xp 32 system and it works just fine.

The terminal works fine.

Is this a known problem? Is there a workaround?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Joe

I figured it out, the programs need to be run in compatibility mode. To put them into that mode, go to Start --> <broker> --> terminal (or MetaEditor) and click the right mouse button, a menu will pop-up. From that menu choose "Properties" and then choose Compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2. When that is done, everything works like it did under XP.
