Hi,

I am new in using the MetaQuotes platform and the historical data that came with the platform (GBPUSD M5) went only from mid-june this year.

Is there a way to get at least the whole year 2006 in M5 for GBPUSD?

Thanks

Thank you !

It helps anyway, but I was looking also for the data in M5 and on the site there is M1. I don't know if there is a way to tell the plaftorm to generate the M5 from the M1.

Yes, you can make any timeframe from the M1 data. I have copies of the alpari data that I have converted to M5.

Run the 'period_converter' script. I think it comes with MT4 installation, if not it is in the Code Base section on this site.

I just posted a script on code base to deal with M1 historical data:

'periodgen'

To see data in hst file the easiest is to open history center in MT an press the import button. Browse for the file you wanr to see.

But don't hit ok button or data will imported into history center.
