Hello,

I've got an EA running on EURUSD at M30. When I use the strategy tester, the farthest back it starts a trade is 5/27/09, no matter what I have the start date set at. I can get it to go further back using other time periods, example H1, but will not on M30. On average, the EA makes over 2 trades per day, so it's not like there are no scenarios in the chart to fire a trade before 5/27.

Any ideas what is going on here?

Thanks for your help,

Dan

Layman's Notes: ZigZag…

Surely, a fey thought to trade closely to extremums visited every apprentice trader when he/she saw "enigmatic" polyline for the first time. It's so simple, indeed. Here is the maximum. And there is the minimum. A beautiful picture on the history. And what is in practice? A ray is drawn. It should seem, that is it, the peak! It is time to sell. And now we go down. But hell no! The price is treacherously moving upwards. Haw! It's a trifle, not an indicator. And you throw it out!

Go to your tools/history center and open up the symbol history folder and see how far back your 30 minute history files go, if they dont go back far enough download them and that might cure the problem.

Also look at your journal tab for possible errors with that timeframe.
