PHY, on the MACD sample, i done a test and it showed 400 trades. I modified the sample and found that after a test there was around 90 trades, however, after returning the mac sample back to its origonal state, (undoing all that was done) i found it only produced around 100 trades after a test, the dates/times were not touched as these were the same on the origonal first test, please could you explain, i have gone back to the sample because i seem to be having a similar problem with my own EA, thanks

Interview with Alexander Egorov (Aver)

While writing expert advisors, I knew from practice that trailing stop rarely pays off, one just loses one's profits. Though, it can be related to my experts, not to the real trading. I tried to use trailing stops instead of strictly set profit. It did not pay off.

Something is different, whether apparent to you or not

Often it is when we realise that we have not been as accurate as we thought that understanding can begin :)

Hi BB, and thankyou for your comments, it seems that if you deviate away from your stoploss or your lot size then this can make a big difference so this must have been the problem its all i can think of !!

One question i would ask you is, I need to programme a stoploss in my EA, on doing a test you will see there ars some large drawdows, this is due to me not having a stoploss.

My initial sell/buy, seems to go in the right direction and is then adjusted with the trailing stop, however, it is always the last trade that goes against the trade direction and the trailing stop does not kick in,hence the draw down.

I have included a test for you to look at to see what i am talking about.

Could you help in any way?
